In the cloud

So I know I have been m.i.a. for awhile but it has been for good reason, however I find it very good that one of my readers brought it to my attention that I haven't blogged in awhile.thats a good thing because that lets me know that people are reading.

Now moving foreward, I was in orlando for vacation and found myself at Popeyes grubbing anyway so this asian family was dining and the husband had to make a few changes due to the wifes request so he does it and returns to eat and she says "well why didn't you get vegetables"and he looked ay her the only way a seasoned married man could look at his wife like CHILEPLEASE! At that moment I realized that all men were created equal hahahaha they eating fast food and she tombout damn vegetables I was on the floor dying (in my mind) I simply sol my head in mental agreeance with what I know what ge was thinking.

Moving along so I have realized many many things over the last couple weeks thru some of my struggles and my determination to get my own that your natural inclinations about people are generally true and as I make positive moves to each and maximize my potential I realize that (and I've said this numerous times) that if you invest, culture, and develop people your world will be better off...(to be continued).

I've found a new song and albeit a extra ratchet and should always be sung and played at a reckless level it has so much substance when it comes to peoples daily feelings about their environment...the song "throwed off - Treal Lee" the chorus can be applied to many different settings from the club to the work place. Now I don't recommend walking, singing, and/or playing this song inappropriately, I strongly suggest listening and singing it prior to entering the environment you need it for.

Well due to the fact that it's been a minute I will cut off here and tell more okn next weeks post...

Lessons

Ok yes I have been a bit M.I.A for some time and I apologize to those who read this and (I wish) were wondering why there was a delay.  Whelp!......

Got a lot going on and bottom line is I'm learning and getting such a valuable lesson about life and people.  So I have just been laying low actually working on somethings more so than the life lessons thing but both have played a role in my limited accessibility.  I won't be too long because I don't have much really to get into other than always monitor your surroundings and those in them and you will learn alot of things.  Life has a funny way of teaching you and the Mos High (or whomever you look for spiritual guidance) has a way of strengthening you when you think all is good.  Much reflection has gone into this past week and the energies and spirits of those around me.  Taking time to decipher the lessons we learn whether it stubbing your pinky toe or dropping bbq sauce on your favorite shirt you always can learn something everyday.  Always listen to peoples ways and actions and you will be able to translate the language they speak.  I appreciate all the people in my life and those who I have come across because regardless of the situation I have learned from them.  I'm thankful for all my blessings and I pray that everyone receives them as well so hahahah enough of the deep intellectual thought ............Y'ALL BE EASY OUT THERE YA HEAR!

Life's strangeness, Cell Phone Dependency and Sports...

Wow its Thursday already and I almost ALMOST forgot to post, but once again I only have 7 subscribers so I doubt if many are missing anything.   Also wanted to let you know for all you techy folk you can pull this up on your mobile devices now, there is a mobile view that you can read this a bit easier on your Iphones, BlackBuurrrries, or Droid phones.

It's Hot in SC

Now, to the week in review I will try to be brief but hey I ramble that's why I started this blog in the first place.  Life strangeness just the people you meet, encounter, or develop relationships with and how they oddly enough always serve a purpose in your life.  I am very thankful for all the people I have come in contact with and those I will meet in the future no matter if its negative or positive you always grow and learn from each person or event you are personally involved in.  Some people I have meet over the course of time I have yet to deciphered the purpose they have in my life but I am thankful to be in a situation to try and determine that.  Ok that was the short and sweet version lets get to the meat of this weeks stuff...

It's hot in SC

Quick tidbit so my 2 year old son had what we thougtht were the chickenpox (rash like bumps) so as a concerned parent took him to the Dr and the M.D. says he had foot, mouth, and hand virus #blankstare...I'm looking at this man who is suppose to be a professional and has studied medicine and the answer for this uncomfortable irritable condition my boy is going thru as foot, mouth, and hand virus WTH is that?  So I'm looking at him like you joking right, you could have at least tried to confuse me and call it pedioralfungalitis and then described it and I would have said "OH" as if understanding that its something special.  So I say Doc what can we do to relieve his stress (sores in the mouth - couldn't eat or drink comfortably which both he likes to do) and the Doc says it has to run it's course I'm like man I just dropped a co-pay and waited forever for you to tell me he has this homemade named virus that will go away in a week?  SMH I will get on Dr visits next week but some of the stuff they come up with is crazy in my 31 years of living (28 cognitive) I have never heard, seen, or known anyone that has had this....I will also discuss the medical industry next week too....stay tuned

It's HOT in SC
So last week my lifeline aka my attachment to the outside world (my phone) died on me, I have no explanation for the overwhelming loss I was feeling without my connection to the world.  Retract...so I was updating my phone to have the newest and improved look to it and lets just say 24 hours later the update still wasn't complete and my phone as I knew it was just regulated to being a paper weight.  So in my desperate attempts to revive it it was gone to cell phone heaven.  So I called some of my contacts (which I rarely if any time ever call in for favors for my phone ) I super uber meticulous and picky when it comes to the care of my phone (don't judge me, and if you are SO).   So I go to the local retail establishment and reconnect with some old colleagues and friends and upon leaving I digressed in my cell phone-stivity i.e. a phone cheaper and not as nice as the one I had, ok of course I had something that worked but it wasn't "MY" phone.  So I had to pull a trump card and called a close close friend who is connected with the industry about my dilemma.  He understood the importance of this problem and within hours I was back on my 1,2's and better than ever.  Now I know you are wondering what was the point of all that THE POINT IS I NEED MY PHONE hahahahaha nah the point is the dependency we have on these gadgets and their economic, financial, and social importance in our lives.

It's Hot in SC

In other news Dallas and MIA are tied 2-2 in the series which I think everyone believed MIA was going to just blow the series out the water and be crowned champs.  Now as a conspiracy kinda guy I can analyze some of the anomalies here.  MIA clearly the better overall team at some point seem completely dominate and at other times mechanical as if they are point shaving....ok ok ok I know that is a far fetched idea but lets look at this, this is one of the best Association finals in recent history and two of the potential biggest headlining teams in quite some time.  One a team that has never one a chip and with old veterans who this maybe their last chance to cement their legacies and one player having one of the most efficient runs in the history of the game.  On the other hand you have the villains who formed this super team and has been scrutinized and judged since their formation...Two icons competing on the same side for not only a chip, legacy, but for marketing and "props".  Now with one of the icons facing the most judgement b/c of his lack of play in the shadow of the other people just don't turn it on and off if they really really really want to win.  So in summary the longer this series goes the better build up, the greater hype and chatter, also tv ratings continue to sky rocket....I think you see where I am going with this.

Have I mentioned that it is HOT IN SC...

Well not a entertaining week but needless to say it had it's moments

I went out last week...so you know I gots something to say..hahahha

Hey its Monday again...shat, time is flying.  This weeks chatter will be mainly about social scene (at least in this city I call home).  Due to the playoff hault b/c of preparations for the finals there wasn't much else hatneing (translation-happening).

Ok, so last week was at best dull until Friday and Saturday, where shall I start?  Ok ok so some of my NFL bros came home (I sure hope it was for memorial weekend and not because they wanted to) and of course when you have been exposed to the "LIFE" coming back to Columbia better yet anywhere but Charleston (biased opinion but there is more to do) for a weekend is a bit of a let down - I digress- So my homie calls me Friday and is wondering whats going on and I told him of the only thing I knew of so I said I'm game and yes I drove cross town to check out the scene and lets just say I've seen more cars in a Dollar Store parking lot at 23:00 (think about what I just said)...so we decide to scavenge the town to see if there is any life remotely moving and needless to say we ended up back Uptown (Northeast side) at the place from a previous post I said was trippin...so I gets there and the crowd is respectable compared to where I just left and I get there and these fools charging and I was looking like BWAHAHAHAHAHA (I'm not above paying but geesh If I can see to the back that's not good) but my homie came and got me so needless to say It was a bit chilly inside *DENOTE - If you can feel the A/C in a club that is not a good thing* so anyway we sat down and tried to make it as ballerific as possible a bottle and a place to sit...I saw full sequin jumpers and quite a bit of + sizes in little outfits with little shoes (I think +'s are just at beautiful as any other size no discrimination).  Now, I'm not talking bad about +'s I'm just saying make it work for you PLEASE the same +'s that despise petites are the same ones that attempt to look like petites I'm just saying.   I know plenty of +'s that I think are absolutely beautiful and they embrace themselves and make it work.  Ok enough enough before somebody takes it the wrong way (even tho I have clearly stated my opinion).  Now moving on to day two....I had an opportunity to celebrate one of my good friends and former teammates post wedding celebration in which I can say I had a blast (No7 was on tilt hahahahah y'all who know me know what that means), then later on that night (late late and I don't get out much) my homies buzzed me up yet again, mind now I'm a married guy with two kids (translation - I don get out much; not that there is anything to do anyway) but I don't kick it often with my bros unless its the summer so I'm cool with that.  So we go by the same establishments as the previous night and needless to say it was worst than the night before...so some of my other homies called as well and I end up kicking it with them til the wee hours and they are young single fellas with not a care in the world which I appreciated the atmosphere but we all were looking around like man this place SUCKS lol.  I felt bad because I know me and my team have plans to make some things happen it is just taking some time.  I feel like this Capital City could do soooooo much better in the social scene category but that's for another discussion.

In other news which I have talked about before but I find humorous  AMAZON is coming hahahaha the tax breaks and stuff got worked out but some provisions are in place which I think make sense and I understand the issues of why we didn't want them to come but the economy here is terrible and therefore we need jobs and we need more people spending more money.  See the catch 22 about this recession is people have to spend money to get "things" turned back around however people don't have money to discretionarily (made up word) spend so now what?  I feel like if there was a social scene here with all the military and other implants they would be out on the town spending and at least providing something to this place...*exiting soapbox*.

In conclusion this past weekend was a waist to a certain degree other than catching up with friends...I have unfortunately fortunately been around the social scene since the age of 13 (clubs, parties, behind operations etc) and I know a few things that would work but I know my bros don't have much faith in the people.  I have had trouble understanding this paradox that the people here want to be big city but have yet to be exposed and feel willing to pay for big city atmosphere hence they go to ATL or QC to enjoy themselves paying double/triple to enjoy themselves rather than indulge this city.  I completely understand the rationale on both sides but hey I'm just one person that has a vision.  Whelp I guess it will happen one day.....See its possible tho (closing statement) Those who recall the Memorial weekend party my team and I thru 4 years ago was a smash hit...  So I kinda know what I'm talking about so we will see what the future holds,  I had more to say but I will finish up next week....

Hmmm I tell you....LIFE IS GREAT

Yeah I'm back on schedule yaddayadda ya....enough of the formalities...This week;  End of the World, Chris Bosh, Westbrook, and Athletes coming out the closet.  Also Relationship information and other randoms of randomstivity....

Lets begin....So last week according to ancient calendars and lore and other stuff the world was suppose to end on Saturday which I'm not disputing the literals of that statement but lets think about a few things....like recession, natural disasters, crime still rising, war, etc...am I making sense?  See as far as I view things (which is all that matters if youre reading my blog) the world is taking a dive and much of it is by our own doing simply because we have ignored the Mos Hi and Mother Nature (one in the same) nah what I mean by that is that we are so embattled with ourselves (crime, corruption, greed, etc) that we totally forget that NATURAL DISASTERS are just that NATURAL and we have no control over it so if we (humans) figure out that to make this world better we have to control what we can control because at any min one to millions can be taken away by nature.  Ok not to scare, offend, or be insensitive to life and death I'm just saying...I'm a simple guy so we need to all do right by each other (regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religious beliefs) be kind to your neighbor and realize "the hardest thing about the business is minding your own" ~ Drake.

Ok now that I have you in deep freaking thought I will move on to the lighter side of life....SPORTS hahahaha my favorite,  Ok so the Heat look like they wanna try and win this thing and Dallas doing they thing.  Football still arguing over ultimately fans hard earned money.  Baseball is still playing, hockey I honestly stop watching after the Caps got eliminated and NASCAR I have yet to really get (someone help me here).  Track N Field is alive and well and well I like watching it.  Ok now on to specifics...So there's this big thang out now about athletes coming out the closet....first whats the big deal?  It is not like we didn't know this was going on for years and years so is this acceptance movement suppose to shed light or whats the purpose?  I don't get what the big deal is and why it has to be a headline now if athletes were kingpins or something or needing to be visited by SVU then I get but sexual preference...really?  Its not like the guys can keep that a secret ya know....dudes can spot tendencies which a number of them have but its life it's 2011 Land O Lakes.   *Exiting soapbox*....so the media is giving Russell Westbrook a hard time I guess its that time of year and there needs to be a bad guy to keep sports alive until football returns...My opinion is yes he is a bit selfish and spotlight hungry but he is 22 so I get it plus I'm sure people in his camp are distracting him to a certain degree (agent included).  The young man is extremely talented and has only played the point for 2 years in which he was not one coming out of UCLA.  Two things are going to happen here 1.  He will continue to try to be the face of the team and eventually leave and try to be the MAN somewhere else.  2.  He will realize he will never be THAT guy and become solid and his numbers may decline but they will win.  Just my thoughts but either way no matter what he says it is effecting him and is making his job that much more challenging (just let him play).  Next Chris Bosh is having this coming out party (not exactly tied to the previous topic hahahaha) let me say this Bosh very skilled as a big man but I still don't put him in the SUPERSTAR category, He played on a very very bad team in Toronto (not that hard to put up numbers if you are good) next due to the fact that all the attention has been on Dwayne James he gets to shine kinda like Rondo with his emergence....Now don't get it twisted I'm not saying he cant play but geesh its ok for him to be a good player he is just not on the level as Dwayne James.

Quick tidbit The Terminator doing his number with the help and getting exposed I wonder if this will be like Eldrick Woods will it end the terminators career and credibility?  I guess it was a no brainier when the lil boy walked in and then left and said "I'll be back" (Austrian voice) and that set off the alarms...Iownknow if that's what happened but if he has lil teeth and a gap I would be rotflmao.   Ok ok ok no one is perfect that I know but one side of me is content that it wasn't another brown person messing up this time.

Relationship advice...well I will save that for questions....I can generally answer questions on what HE is thinking or trying and what SHE is or will be thinking (for newbie married couples).

OK THE END

HAHAHAHAHAHA and then some

yeah yeah yeah its Tuesday and I'm just posting, hey I've been busy and I'm still stuck at 8 subscribers so mane if you reading this tell somebody RATNAH! Ok this week I will talk about FACEBOOK, Recession gas, and some sports stuff.

Ok quickly lemme say if you are new to this blog or a current reader when you seen what appears to be mispelt <---- words please realize that I am a very bright guy with a unique sense of humor and I simply type things the way most people (particularly southerners) say them phonetically. So if you get stumped just take a deep bref and think about how you pronounce and enunciate words ok....now on to other stuff.

Facebook is slowly but surely making millions of dollars at the expense of becoming my -_________- (or myspace), now I must say I am a bit disturbed because many people left my -________- because of too much advertising and other ridiculous games and gimmicks to post on peoples page.  Now I am not against entrepreneurs utilizing it to get information out I think it is a useful tool however, all the spam that is being inundated on peoples pages, post of music videos or pics of Jordan's and other knock offs is getting a bit overwhelming...Now I understand hey making money but at the expense of being outta style in 3 more years well...all I can do is smh.  Twitter my newest gem will eventually fall victim as well so I truly believe we will all go back (those of us in our late tweenies early thirties and up) to msn, google, yahoo and other messaging services that were so popular in the late ninenees and two thousands.  I remember when you would catch up with people and or meet new folks in msn chat rooms....the ebony room hahahaha stuff like that....

In other news gas is starting to get like the prices of produce per pound....and I can't figure out for the life of me how petrol stations can charge one price for cash and another for credit/debit?  Either this is pure greed or we are simply missing that there is a fluctuation of .10 and therefore letting me know petrol shouldn't be as high as it is.  I hate riding down the road and seeing the big sign that displays gas a "the cheapest price in town" or so I think then I get to the pump and swipe and the price jumps up ten cents.....FALSE ADVERTISING I'm suing  (lol j/k...but maybe)....hell with buying a Powerball I need that dolluh to get a 1/3 extra to the tank ya nahmeen son (new york voice).

And so the NBA final four is set.....Memphis didn't make it thru but I can tell you their bandwagon got full (I must admit I was pulling for them and the city).  OKC and Dallas and Dewayne James vs DRose an nem...I happen to to like the new power shift gives the Association a new feel and fills up seats on other bandwagons.  As y'all know I don't have a NBA team I just like watching good exciting basketball...I digress.  So Russell Westbrook seems to have figured out that his star can shine very bright if he plays Rondo-esque with a better j.....well I hope he figures that out b/c he sees what happens if he tries to still the Light.....#backlash.  DRose an nem put on a show against Dewayne James and friends, out played out hustled and out posterized.  Dewayne James went back to one on one and err time they do that they show that they will not beat anybody unless they shoot the lights out which bof are streaky shooters.  The supporting cast better show up or this series will be shawt.  If they go down 2-0 or 3-0 mock my words and I have said this all year that Pat Riley will intervene and take over a la Van Gundy in 06 (I think he secretly cant wait specially now that Phil is gone).  Welp that for sports news and simply the fact that my fanguz are tired from typing....

The Lakers, Mothers Day, and other stuff....

Hahahahaha I know I'm catching the 3 readers I have off guard but hey until I have 100 subscribers that expect to read this on a specific day I can be a bit spontaneous.  Ok so last week we saw some interesting things with the NBA Playoffs.  It was also Mother's Day weekend....

Let us begin SHALL WE...I wanted to start with D Rose and his over publicized League MVP speech (maybe over publicized is the wrong term), well what I'm saying is that I applaud the media outlets for showing this well deserved honor and the eloquence in which this young 22 year old displayed in accepting the award.  In the most humbling and emotional manner he showed his gratitude for the privilege of being able to make a living playing a SPORT and he put it in perspective when thanking his mother.  Looking back on all her hard work and sacrifices pushes him through the days when he doesn't feel like "playing" (for those that have not played sports it is very very very very demanding and it consumes your life and some times like anything else you just don wanna).  My respect level for this young fella is at the peak because he always seems genuinely humble and thankful for his gift.  In other Playoff news the Los Kobes (I mean the L.A. Lakers) got their ass cut by the finally over the hump Mavericks and I can say I was pleased with the results and especially found humor in the going away present they gave Phil and Kobe.  Don't get it mixed up I'm not a Laker hater but Kobe although arguably the best or one of the best players to ever play is not high on my totem pole that the aforementioned D Rose is.  The overt arrogance and quest for greatness at any cost has a bit disturbing, maybe he is just "misunderstood" (obvious sarcasm and cliche') but the man (although a vet so I completely understand) didn't practice with the team all year yet he is the first the throw people under the bus if they don't play up to HIS standard (listen to his interviews prior to Bynums trustgate comments).  Nah speaking of HIS standard I truly think (I understand the sub-language that basketball players speak in interviews) that Bynum let the cat out the bag with his comments...TRUST ISSUES, hell with the team I think he was directly saying that Kobe was in PMS mode and was throwing folk under the bus in house.  Bynum is a bit of a goofball anyway but I understood it....(he, blake, odom, and/or barnes will all be gone next year and I could see D Howard coming there a la Shaq).  Quickly:  Rondo separates is elbow and comes back out there to play (now being a separated shoulder survivor lol) was quite a display of "manning up".  I have done that (read the previous parenthesis) and the next day soreness, pain, stiffness cant imagine in the elbow.  Now I have given props I will say when KG, Ray Ray, and Paul retire he will either need to go to another team or the C's will go back to the doldrums.

Nah...on to the other subject briefly.  I want to send a Happy (tho belated) Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there and single fathers who get the job done.

Y'all be good and if you have read this far down and actually like reading please refer a friend and or comment.

What a week....

This mid week thang might start happening more often so anyways lets talk about whats going on this week...The NBA playoffs have a vintage feel with all the hard fouls and stuff...The draft came and went...and Our Commander and Chief announced some shocking but celebratory news. Amazon bails....and I'm on this Dave Ramsey kick.

Lets begin ....shall we?  So we will skip directly to the NFL draft and how awkward it was but still the NFL draft, Cam "Payday" Newton went numero uno to the Panthers and my thoughts well...at least for 6 games the stadium should be energized.  I think the kid has charisma and will be an attraction early then after some L's the luster will corrode.  His dad was there and lets just say.....something is still fishy.  Moving on along Mark Ingram who was glowing and shinning when it first started, started to look a bit pissed off his name wasn't being called....then he got his call (which I will say I'm happy for the young man) and The "Mother ship" as Dan Patrick calls it decides that they will blindside him with a email from his pops.  Nah did anyone else wonder why the email didn't make it to his blackberry, iphon4, or droid?  Ok moving on so he broke down (rightfully so) and the Ship got their moment.  A whole bunch of other picks came and went and the recurring theme I was hearing was about kids with "CHARACTER ISSUES" nah I'm a bit thrown that this particular draft had soooooo many perceived knuckle heads.  End of the day it seems no matter what talent will override the potential trouble awaiting.   I will say this I hope the future classes, high school kids, etc learn that everything you do, say, tweet, facebook whatever could cost you A LOT OF MONEY so keep that in mind.  Moving along....Our President made a startling yet historical announcement that Bin Laden had been found and killed, now as much as I understand the importance of this my somewhat jaded view on politics is how does this affect our deficit going forward and economy also does this mean our troops still have to be fighting everywhere?  I know the risk are still very high and thinks aren't automatically resolved but that was just my first impression once hearing the news.  I'm still amazed tho that we celebrated and rallied together yet we still can't seem to solve the violent problems we have here at home. Now yall know I don't stay on politics too long I just wanted to touch on that point.  As most South Carolinians know AMAZON was trying to come to SC and build a plant and operate for free...I understand both problems of hell the deal was a bit off in the first place (wonder if that was on purpose....will explain later maybe) and second I'm sad that one of the highest unemployed states wont get the 3k jobs that it could have brought over the next 3years.  I am so inspired to try to make things happen and help people in my state but lack the capital and complete resources to do something but I will....one day.  I believe....Hebrew 11:1.

Nah that segways into the Dave Ramsey kick I'm on....Dave's Total Money Makeover book has be vexed and motivated.  I wish I would have had this book in my hand when it was published 2003 I believe.  I would be doing very very very well and be alot wiser.  However the trials and lessons I have learned have helped give this book more substance on my new quest.   I will "live like no one else, so I can live like no one else" those of you who know that or understand it feel me.  I recommend it to everyone especially these young athletes out here in the world.  I digress....so I have some important milestones coming up in the near future that will get my full makeover process started....as well as the thought of going back to school to get my green jacket hahahaha.   Well I will keep it short on that note and will tell everyone to keep saying your prayers and continue to help those in need......blessings are powerful things.

Mane How Bout that....

Ok lets get past the formalities yes I"M LATE AGAIN....but obviously no one is paying attention so I can afford to do so.  Nah this past week and well this week in general, let's see where do I begin.  I started this new Dave Ramsey kick and I'm focused on being supremely wealthy and I have the foundation to get it done.   Nah lets dive into this a lil bit because I have obviously recognized my flaws and faults as being a brown person in this society and why we/us can't seem to learn the rules to financial freedoms and why we succumb to the endless perils of being yes BROWN.  Our main issues are the overcoming of our past (historically speaking we have never really HAD) what I mean by this is most of us aren't use to having so when we get a lil bit we SPLURGE (for my beige readers we over spend and buy frivolously).  Nah the problem with "SPLURGING" is half the time it is at the expense of something usually a bill or two.  We would rather have the new iphone 4G than get caught up the that very bill and stick with the Moto Razr <-- obvious joke.  My point is that we have yet to truly learn how to live and sacrafice now and live once we are fully able to.  We "live in the moment"  carpe diem (I took Latin 2 years in hs) which is a slogan most of us only know about thru movies or when some celebrity says it.  I digress....we are for the most part a culture fueled by "STUFF" as a sign of prosperity, we look the part very well to show that yes we do have the ability to buy things however, that only generally impresses our peers who for the most part are doing the same exact thing.  Nah I have had the revelation while visiting some family in Ft. Mill, SC where there are some very nice developments and housing and what I noticed (my fam aren't the Joneses and aren't trying to keep up with them how every they are staying up with the Johansons lol) was that the large nice neighborhoods (big ole houses) had a Honda Pilot, Chevy Silverado, and a 03' Camry in the driveway or a '00 FourRunner and a '04 Tahoe, occasionally I would see a Lexus ES or something like that (status bang for buck kinda cars) now I drive further down (hypothetically) and I see typical 'hoods' and I see the Escalade, 300 (Bentley kit), Suburban on '28s, etc yard is beat down, the goal in the front yard is on its last 5 fga's and in the back is a cage for the pits.  Now yes I'm largely stereotyping and/or over exaggerating a bit however I'm making my point so listen... We do things like that (I'm guilty been there done that) and now I'm slowly learning that sacrificing all that to be able to live in a lil while will be nice (boys school paid for, and trust funds building).  Ok exiting soapbox and moving on...

Nah I mentioned visiting family in Ft. Mill which actually was a birthday Carowinds day for my lil cousin and son so we at the park for what seemed like an eternity....Carowinds makes me think if Wal Mart opened an amusement park it would be Carowinds long lines.  I thought about talking to my frat brother who is a comedian about this,  have you ever seen a Thug at an amusement park....this is probably one of the most "amusing" (pun intended) phenomenons I have ever seen, they are at the park trying to look hard but at the same time trying to have fun (be a kid again).  Wife beaters, big shorts, ball cap, fresh sneakers, and tatted up toting a bear or a big tube that the lemonade comes in hahahahaha Iownknow about you but I found that to be hilarious (i will discuss further later).  On the other side of the spectrum watching the "Necks" are just as funny because its like they treat Carowinds like they are at Vegas............................................(needed a minute to stop laughing so hard internally).  If you haven't notice I like observing people and dynamics that overall make life beautiful yet instantaneously funny.  I keep telling myself to do a broadcast via YouTube so when I see things I can make these words come to life....YALL GOTTA STAY ON ME ABOUT THAT.

In other news I recently discovered that our Govenors' husband is referred to as the First Gentleman, I snickered (yes I said snickered) because I was always curious to what that name would be and as I watched the morning news I received clarification.  Well as we all know I can be long winded so I will exit stage left now and make sure to say that SEND YOUR PRAYERS TO EVERYONE AROUND THE WORLD, especially the recent storms that have ripped thru the southeast, the earthquakes folks in Japan and Haiti and all those who have lost someone they loved recently.  We have to right the ship and support our brothers and sisters and wake up everyday and be thankful and spread joy and happiness to thy neighbor.

testing testing 1,2,3

Ok so back to what I was tombout. I have been using droid voice recognition all day so for give the short post before. So the NBA playoffs have begun and yes I will say if you are a sports fan preferrably nba then your spouse/significant other should understand no request are permitted for the next four weeks. In other news it looks like a new legislation will be passed saying that voters must present ID to vote, hmmmm how can I address this without coming off politically wrong....that method was banned in the early part of the century.

Moving along I partook in a grown up weekend (those with kids will lol when I finish), I took my sons to their cousin bday party then kicked it at my cousins house for the remainder of the evening (spirits, food, and plenty of lol) yeah that's a GROWN UP WEEKEND hahahahaha.

Also make sure you send your prayers out to those families that were rocked by tornadoes this past week. With Mother Nature having her own pms issues you would figure we (humans) would be less inclined to destroy, kill, fight, degrade, and politcally dismantle each other. Im just saying....priorities are a bit off....so I will end with this PEACE, LOVE, & LAUGHTER

Iownknow....

OK I know I'm super late (usually a Monday thang) but hell who knows who actually takes time to read this any way so oh well.  Last week wasnt much of anything as far as news but this week has been somewhat entertaining at least in the entertainment world.  SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Manny retires, Barry beats the rap, and Kobe gets fines 100k for his "homophobic slur".  Amazon is trying to make a come up in SC, VP sleeps thru presidents speech, and a number of other thangs.  Where do I begin....lets just start with Manny hahahah he bounces retires and goes to Spain after failing another drug test.  Lets just say the man has made over 170M in his career and all they tombout is if he goes to the HOF, mmmmmm (sour face expression) he don't care, WHO"S NEXT!  Barry Bonds has proved once again that Dollars talk and what they excrete walks hahaha NEXT!  KOBE gets caught on t.v. on one of his many MANY tirades the TV catches the closure of his verbal assault. What I am happy about is he didn't use the ole cliche' "I'm human....dadadadaada" he was real about it and yes I think it has been blown completely out of proportion but then again IT WAS ON NATIONAL TV.  Whats is most interesting is that it cost him 100k YIKES, but as the folks on Sports Center calculated that is roughly 30 min of his salary (recession, 100k could help many families in need).  I digress man if players started getting fined for stuff like that they need to fine Bosh for spitting while getting hype in a game (like the Glenn Davis drooling thing).

In other news Amazon is trying to come to Metropolitainville, USA and got free land, and some breaks but they want the whole pie.  It's interesting when companies do that, isn't more important to break into this market and provide 2,500 jobs for a recession hard hit state?  Maybe I'm just a economic softy.

Like I said last week didn't have much substance that I could go into a long drawn out soliloquy about.  If you read this blog subscribe and join...I'm geesh it wont hurt. hahahahah

Hmmmm where and what

Yes yes we are at another Monday and although this past week wasn't as eventful as the last it still had its "things".  Obviously our Governor could be discussed every week so for the sake of entertaining I will not do so.  Lets just say the more I read and learn about politics the more I realized my preconceived notions were right and I get a bit frustrated.  I digress so the big debates last week were about the FINAL FOUR and kids staying in school not staying in school etc., plus a topic that I will spend some time on this particular blog post.

A group of married men (one newlywed) and myself of course had "the" discussion with the grasshopper about the INSTITUTION. Now mind this is a group of guys all expressing their thoughts so about the changes, the responsibilities, the "submission" hahahah.  Now we all realized that there are changes that come with "signing nem papers" (women may argue this but that's fine this is from a male perspective so) and the consensus was that the fact of "submission" (take the term on the surface not literally) comes more from us than it does women.  Men generally submit for the simple fact of not having to debate, be challenged, or argue about mainly what appears as trivial (pick your battles).  Mind this group of gentlemen had never had this talk we just gravitated to it.  All of us had our stories of "giving in" and learning how to always be wrong.  The Grasshopper in this conversation asked several "grasshopper-like" questions in which each guy gave a scenario but all have virtually the same response.  Questions such as:  1. What about sex 2. Home projects 3. Going out 4. Consequences.  Each guy appropriately responded based on personal experience but each had the same results; 1. will decrease with a sharp decline 2. will increase 3. will decrease for the sake of "why do you need to go out" 4. Ultimately if you challenge any of the above questions you will be met with stiff resistance and ultimately will just be mad and stay home.  If you are a married man reading this I know you are laughing because you recognize where you fall in.  Now by no means were we discouraging the grasshopper about the INSTITUTION we were simply helping him properly identify what the hell he has gotten himself into.  Now many of the "council" (I will refer to this group for the remainder) all previously dated and courted for years prior to jumping broom and each said that once it became law binding all the previous +/- were erased from the hard drive and you have a new slate to work from which is notably dominated by the spouse.  OK for virgin readers I know this may all sound negative but it truly isn't it is just a way for some grasshoppers to understand and conceptualize what they are embarking on.  In this day in age where the divorce rate is astounding we can look at the dynamics and variables of why it is what it is (save for later discussion).  Without really understanding the dynamics and variables you will slowly realized the INSTITUTION is less about you and more about what your suppose to do (hahahaha).  "Grasshopper" quick rebutle was that "things are cool right now but I do foresee somethings already", we all laughed in unison because he is still reveling in the "newness" but reality will slowly be implemented so that he starts to understand that all the questions he initially asked will all reveal the answers we all responded with.  Now there are some dudes out there that will say "none of those apply" and I will respond with a. do you have children (likely not) b. if you call the shots, more than likely she is complaining to her girlfriend you just don't know it c. newlywed.   The INSTITUTION is not a science or for the lack of better terms about love, it is indeed a partnership based on the idea of cooperation, compromise, care, respect, and last but not least the L word.  Through several conversations (across all ethnic fronts) the thoughts and responses yield the same results.  As we wished grasshopper the best (as we were being summoned) we also told grasshopper to toss the notion of what it once was out the window because that will change.  Regardless if you find the "right" person the principals of matrimony are different and plain and simple. Women (many) have ambitions and dreams of the INSTITUTION and the overall idea of how it is going to be.  Men (most) generally "submit" to the INSTITUTION and the stability of it.  The socialism of it is what makes or breaks it, are we on the same page, are we growing together, are we both fueled by the initial fire that led us here?  Those are the questions people ask and ultimately become the blueprint of the INSTITUTION.

OK I have rambled long enough if you have responses and/or questions feel free to input or email me I will be more than obliged to respond.   This is merely my thoughts and opinions so....

An Eventful week...I tellyuh: A MUST READ!

Greetings, and so another week has passed and I find myself back on my blog having even more experiences than the week before.Where shall I start...hmmmm well lets go with something on last week and the Board of Trustees beef between two women.  So the "significant" woman held a conference and said that she would give more money and told the State (a la the Woman in charge) to match it, in my translation she is emphatically saying "nah b%&*$, put up or shut up".  Ok ok...on to other news SPORTS why don't we and so the state flagship schools bball program loses 4 players in 12 mos...ok obviously I'm not in a position to express what I want however I wanted to dive into the dynamics of these transactions, now being a former student athlete my interest is always vested into the players and the program.  Don't get it misconstrued I completely understand the business of college athletics and the prevalent challenge of education vs athletics (been there done that).   I digress I personally don't like the moves because ultimately these type of decisions (attrition) effects both parties, you ask how?   Well lets look at it most kids (98%) come to school with ambitions and dreams of playing professionally (school in most cases is secondary) so by making these transitions you ultimately lose a year and a real sense of where your "dream" is headed.  Now on the flip side it hurts the institution because the perceived idea is to educate the athletes and W/L are some what subjective.  The reality of the matter is transitions happen to every school across the country however this happened all at once (which is like finding a Lebron James that wants to come to school = rare).  In the realm of public opinion none of this looks good for the coaches, players, or the program.  So in my current capacity I continue to try to educate these kids on the business of sports.  See many of them figure no responsibilities (which is a joke your responsibility is to get good grades and WIN!) and they also figure they aren't getting paid so they can't conceptualize (at 17-20 yrs old) that this indeed is a job.  So what I tell them is you have to really understand and bring this thing to reality (you essentially get paid 100k/yr - housing, books, per diem, clothes/gear, meal plan).  Now once these "kids" understand that college sports like being a regular student is in place to prepare you for the NEXT LEVEL in which being a Pro means you manage your money, your bills, you day to day activities so at this time you must conduct yourself like what you want to eventually be.  In other words if you want to be a pro....act like one (study film, extra practice, play the social and media role).  So those are my surface feelings because I truly wish I had someone during my experience to take me under their wing and say look "screw all that other stuff"  if you want to make it this is how you do it (and I don't mean the general yada yada you get from coaches).  I mean someone sitting me down on a regular and saying YOU have unbelievable potential however, in order for you to make it you will have to A, B, and C.  I know you want to party, meet girls, and blah blah all the time you spend doing that instead of honing your craft and learning the "GAME" (on and off court to position oneself) to do what you say you want and that is to make it to NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL,  or what have you, no one did that so I feel like it is my duty to impart that information (not saying that no one is doing it I'm just saying).   For the sake of time I will leave the rest of my thoughts for questions if anyone has any.

Nah to other news...I yes ME went out this past weekend with my best friend, frat brother, and business partner.  Now we simply went to a WANG and DRANK establishment (I will not market or anyone else hahaha) and did some catching up and to discuss our future ventures.  Of course we have a wonderful blueprint in line that we started 4 years ago however in the capital city "metropolitan" city at that with a mediocre and not to stretch the imagination seemingly pathetic social night life for adults (ages 25+).  Now I understand that this "city" is a college town which I whole hardily enjoyed when I was 18-22.  Nah at 31 I can't pull myself to go to those same establishments so I'm regulated to WANG and DRANK places (during basketball, football seasons) which is ok.  I digress...we have analyzed this market for quite sometime now and have our thoughts on how to boost the social and economic landscape without changing the identity of the place (its the south - I will not elaborate), so we had a novel idea since we rarely get together to really hang out anymore to try to take our talents to a "night spot" (which will remain nameless even after what I will say).  So we get to the place and (with it being one of 3 places you can really go in the CAPITAL) and get checked at the door for our attire, mind nah (chas. voice) we are both casually dressed (jeans, button down shirts, and casual sneakers) and the Security guy says y'all shoes look like sneakers (Good observation sir because they are but they aren't bball shoes or willies) and proceeds to tell us we cannot get in.  At this moment another guy walks up (long tee shirt, bubble vest, baggy cargo pants, and some prada sneakers) and is let in with no hesitation or questioning.  So my outspoken frat brother says "man this guy just walked in and those look like sneakers" and the security refers to the doorman and the door man says "nah those are BOOTS".  I said sir those are prada sneakers (which are casual) and I lift up my pant leg and said these are no different (I'm not a materialistic person but I do like nice things I had on my Gucci casual sneaks).  Yet we still couldn't get in, so next walks up two guys with baggy jeans, polo style shirts with thermal shirts underneath and ball caps) now mind they had on Lugz or Timberlands boots but if you trying to had a "standard" it should apply equally.  So after standing there having discussion about this foolishness we decided to leave which didn't bother me that I was going home it was the PRINCIPALITIES of the matter.  Nah I will not name the place because at the end of the day they are in the business of making money and hey who am I to knock the hustle.  My lingering point is that there is no standard (and as other places shut down) due to compromising the "standard" for the dollar (many of them hearing consultation from us) learn that when we say the life span is 24-30mos. we mean just that (and it never fails).  So as I exit my soapbox I have come to the realization that when my partner and I attempt to do things and continuously get profiled i.e.  people we talk to about buildings say "We are not interested in this place being a club" we tell them you haven't even let us speak first and you are already categorizing us.  We don't want a club either (too much of a headache and if we did people wont' appreciate what we would give -just my thought) we are trying to be trendsetting entrepreneurs.  I digress....so my point is we are slowly but surely becoming more disappointed in the development of the "CAPITAL" and its vision of socio-economic diversity and or willing to try to grow and become the fruitful place it has the potential to be as we have seen other cities go from sub par to BOOMING (ATL - over 20 yrs and Char. - over 10 years) as we still lag behind content with being where we are not willing to take a chance.  I do applaud our Mayor for seeing the potential and trying to create a buzz (he has been a great mentor to us).  Maybe we are just disgruntled visionaries who have had great success with providing quality events from time to time. I don't know maybe I'm just venting...and not trying hard enough but the obstacles and folks looking thru the peephole and dead bolting doors that we can open is a bit frustrating.  ANYWAY....that's enough of my rant yall have a good day (IF YOU EVEN READ THIS FAR hahahahahaha)

Random Rambling....Good Reader tho

Ok, so it's yet another Monday and other than March Madness and the Disaster in Japan I have know clue what it goings on in the world.  On one note March Madness is one of the single best times of the year and having experienced a March run myself (NIT, not quite the tourney but hey) I know how exciting it is.  On the other hand the disaster in Japan is very very sad, I am hoping one day the world will figure out that life is too precious to fight and bicker of money, power, and respect to the point that it causes lives to be taken.  Natural disasters are fearful enough but I'm just a simple thinking guy.  SOOOOOOOO in other news I am curious to know more about the dynamics of relationships?  As I have seen many of my close friends enter and exit the institution of marriage like its college.  What exactly is this "institution"?  As a married person I have a variety of opinions that have been somewhat diluted by the fact that I grew up in a single parent home and all my friends grew up with two people in the house who subsequently half of those ended up separating.  So despite being a bit jaded, I need other opinions or thoughts. I get to hear guys vent and complain as well as women at the same rate.  Reasons range from infidelity, not getting sex enough, to simply just not "feeling" the person any longer.   I mean with the "institution" how do you properly evaluate who your spouse, gf/bf, "friend" will be?

This post is about random things so I will jump topics completely wanted to make sure I sent a special R.I.P. to Nate Dogg (REGULATORS......MOUNT UP).  We lost a legend and I mean that in all honesty because Nate Dogg brought a new feel to hip-hop music (which I still don't think anyone can truly sing the end of Regulators) ".....to the Eastsiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide Moteeeeeeeel (Staccato).

Nah y'all know I don't get into politics at all really but I just so happen to see "our" Governor remove a very very very very influential women off the BOT for some "dude" who gave $2,500 to her campaign....(expletive)  The influential woman has given MILLIONS to the flagship university and done many things in this ever slow developing city we call the capital.  Now after this removal (which I personally think, is you can't have someone with more influence and money than you be on the board when you are the Gov.  #battleestrogen) the Governor reappoints the influential woman hahahahahahahahahha (learning real quick about the G.O.B. system).

Ok I'm done with sports, relationships, and politics to say none other than it's Monday y'all have a good week.

Something is Fundamentally Wrong Here...

OK so check this out, I typed this ever long sermon on the NFL labor issues and my views about it plus how I came to that thought by being a former pro player overseas and GUESS WHAT! The damn thing got erased...smh, so I am left with starting over in which I can't remember all of that so I will try to paraphrase. I see a issue with NFL "labor" problems...that they have the ability to hold out and go thru this whole thing yet Teachers across the country and schools around the country (mainly SC) are failing and we are BILLIONS of dollars in debt as a country. Now I'm not saying players don't deserve getting paid but this is utterly ridiculous right now considering many of the teams (Detroit, New Orleans, Washington and a few others) are in cities that are completely struggling. I find that very odd but I do understand. Now my point about being an overseas "baller" is that no matter how well you play "things" come up and either you get paid late or don't get paid at all (foreign and/or domestic players). See if athletes overseas say man I'm not playing cause they aren't paying me (period) or paying enough then the team kindly hands them a plane ticket. Now some can look at it as I'm just a angry basketball player that didn't make it to the next level but hey I don't care this is my blog so I am going to say it like people see it. We are struggling as a economy and ultimately the people that pay for these salaries etc. are the "struggling" fans that use sports as their therapy against the day to day menucha. Sad part is the people that handle day to day operations, clerical, and other office duties (marketing, media personnel, and other "small timers") will be out of work and don't make "millions" of dollars. To me that is a fundamental problem why should they have to pay for owners inability to manage the dynamics of Winning and Losing (which is what it boils down to when you look at why they pay these astronomical salaries). I will say simply that our economic priorities are a bit off....My idea would be that these millionaires adopt some families (tax right off), I'm not saying support a whole neighborhood but how many of them blow hundreds of thousands on "stuff"? What if an millionaire athlete took 500k and spread it out to 50 different families maybe (10k or more) to help pay off credit cards, or to simply help pay a bill or two. Now I know the argument is yeah they are doing that for their families (which I applaud) but seriously family can be the biggest debt consumption out there. I'm just saying an athlete that has made 5-10M a year for the last 5-10 years (strictly guessing) Should be able to help the Factory worker who is being hit by gas prices, college tuition's, day to day bills, yet is wearing the "stars" jersey on game day and spends what "change" he has left over to get his sports relief. I get it, I get it..."Its my money I earned it" however people are out here struggling beyond belief yet some athletes won't work because they feel like they need a few more Million....If you don't see my point that's fine (ask me I will try to clarify better). Anywho I just feel bad that Millionaires don't donate like 5% of their salary to families in need, or to help natural disaster victims or something like that....Can you imagine if you take 5% of every pro athlete (or some "celebrity" in U.S. where money is guaranteed) salary and put it back into schools, economic development, and or to help cities grow, and receive some sort of extra tax break.

Which I will say its sad, with all the pro's that have come from my state schools and cities are soooooooo far behind and there is know economic empowerment or development from athletes at least "trying". On the other hand there are several things I can understand (politics) that make it virtually impossible for them to come here and try to help. Either way I get what the "dispute" is about, I have several close friends who are employed by "The League". I guess what my issues are are that that's the BIG talk (all over the news and media) as if the players will all have to file for chapter 13 because they can't afford the car note on the Accord, the 1k mortgage, the $95 phone bill, etc. Rarely do we see the BIG talk being about what some athletes are doing. Overall I think this "Labor Dispute" is tarnishing pro sports. Owners should have long set a concrete limit on what players would get paid (what are they gonna do...now play? where would they go?). Now I think you may see college sports become more relevant again...

CIAA....I feel like I'm getting old

And so yet another CIAA weekend concludes and I have yet to experience the "Hoopla" on the weekends festivities. As I hear mixed reviews from the veterans and the excitement of the neophytes. The veterans some say "man it's not all what people talk about" or "its strait" (which is not an endearing sign). All the neo's have marked this off on their calendars and took days off to partake in the eventful weekend and the novel idea of "Day Parties". However every year at this juncture I find myself saying....I'm going to go then upon the arrival of the week I say man I'm too damn old, too damn married, and too damn much in fatherhood, funny yes but its the truth. I feel like I will look like a Dad sitting there around about bunch of "grasshoppers" looking at them and picking out the one's that will have that "I'm not drinking" anymore prayer tomorrow morning. I don't want to be that cat that's sitting there looking like I'm hunting some innocent young calf hahahahaha nor getting the screw face by some chic my age because she feel like she to grown to be looked at (why the hell are you here fuh?). The paradox of social parity makes attending this weekends attendance for me even more challenging. Like I somehow see CIAA as the ultimate party weekend (a la BLUE N WHITE) of my early 20's when I had no responsibilities and could "wild out". Now I envision myself standing at a bar or sitting down looking at the over abundance of dudes tryna to holla at some gull who has forgotten who she really is because she reinvented herself for CIAA or the other cats balling out of control swiping they "debt" cards to show that they got it when in most cases they have overdraft protection (meaning they can swipe all they want and the bank will cover it but they account will be negative). Then there is the thought of spending time to spend time to wait in line and then get to the door and find out that I have to sign over my mortgage to get in. Then when I do get in the idea or even the concept of getting a respectable drank will take me just as long as it did when I got in. The artful marketing strategy to have "celebrities" come and sit somewhere so far out of reach that its' pointless to even go to THAT particular party. Besides I am not impressed nor drawn to people who are "celebrities" I actually would rather go the opposite direction of them (that's a whole other issue)....I digress, so at the end of endings I find myself yet again at home chilling feeling comfortable although I know a sociable person like myself would probably have some enjoyment by going I don't feel any inclination to make an effort to go. I feel kinda old because I would certainly rather call my homies up and go to Wild Wangs, Ale House, or some other bar that has "wangs" and draft beer. Maybe it's the signs of the times now that I am in my 30's.

Strange thing is as a event planner and host of a pretty successful Homecoming Weekend I try to make sure my patrons don't feel like they are just a number and that everyone no matter their age feels like they can get something out of it. Although no major event will please everyone I think we do a solid job at trying to adhere to feedback to correct what we missed, because we want each of our people to know we are thoughtful enough to try to change their experience. I don't think you will get a questionnaire after CIAA but hey when it reaches that level I guess who cares cause the same people that complain about the prices, parties, and errthang else will certainly be back next year. With that being said.....I guess I need to go before I hit 35 at least hahahahah to say I went once.

What A Hiatus....

I know I am slack as hell and long over due for the 5 people that actually use to pay attention to this blog....but hey I'm back and a bit more enthused than I was from the last time I posted. Whats new since I last had anything of value to talk about? Well I realized that I have an instrinsict gift of gab and a unique understanding of the Mars vs Venus game. I also created a very humorous yet factual blog on facebook affectionately called the "HiM Laws, the guide to the Male Psyche" which in turn turned into a book yes I make a small manual to understand the do's and don'ts for fellas and for women to hopefully better understand our process of thinking and how simple yet astoundingly difficult we men can be. This book also spawned my blog talk show that I use to host at 11pm on Thursdays (did that for about 10 months) but I slowly realized I was talking to my damn self so and nixed that too. The book is still in rotation and I am working on volume II (lulu.com and search The Official HiM Laws and buy it). Yes I completely understand that being somewhat of a contradictory statement however it makes perfect sense. See we men are very simple in our methods and actions and the difficulty becomes when women try to decipher or figure out an alternative meaning when our male brains to process any deeper than what we say. Now I will say this LADIES please pay attention to this statement: A MAN WILL SHOW YOU THE ALTERNATIVE MEANING IN HIS ACTION, translation don't study "his" words study what "his" actions are because all the "STUFF" and "LIL THINGS" you require and are in search for he is probably doing however because he doesn't verbalize it it gets overlooked.

I digress so anyway that's what I have been up to and I assure you I will be more consistent and it won't be errday which I was trying before (I have a life and a job and a family) so it will be more like once a week.
