Ok lets get past the formalities yes I"M LATE AGAIN....but obviously no one is paying attention so I can afford to do so. Nah this past week and well this week in general, let's see where do I begin. I started this new Dave Ramsey kick and I'm focused on being supremely wealthy and I have the foundation to get it done. Nah lets dive into this a lil bit because I have obviously recognized my flaws and faults as being a brown person in this society and why we/us can't seem to learn the rules to financial freedoms and why we succumb to the endless perils of being yes BROWN. Our main issues are the overcoming of our past (historically speaking we have never really HAD) what I mean by this is most of us aren't use to having so when we get a lil bit we SPLURGE (for my beige readers we over spend and buy frivolously). Nah the problem with "SPLURGING" is half the time it is at the expense of something usually a bill or two. We would rather have the new iphone 4G than get caught up the that very bill and stick with the Moto Razr <-- obvious joke. My point is that we have yet to truly learn how to live and sacrafice now and live once we are fully able to. We "live in the moment" carpe diem (I took Latin 2 years in hs) which is a slogan most of us only know about thru movies or when some celebrity says it. I digress....we are for the most part a culture fueled by "STUFF" as a sign of prosperity, we look the part very well to show that yes we do have the ability to buy things however, that only generally impresses our peers who for the most part are doing the same exact thing. Nah I have had the revelation while visiting some family in Ft. Mill, SC where there are some very nice developments and housing and what I noticed (my fam aren't the Joneses and aren't trying to keep up with them how every they are staying up with the Johansons lol) was that the large nice neighborhoods (big ole houses) had a Honda Pilot, Chevy Silverado, and a 03' Camry in the driveway or a '00 FourRunner and a '04 Tahoe, occasionally I would see a Lexus ES or something like that (status bang for buck kinda cars) now I drive further down (hypothetically) and I see typical 'hoods' and I see the Escalade, 300 (Bentley kit), Suburban on '28s, etc yard is beat down, the goal in the front yard is on its last 5 fga's and in the back is a cage for the pits. Now yes I'm largely stereotyping and/or over exaggerating a bit however I'm making my point so listen... We do things like that (I'm guilty been there done that) and now I'm slowly learning that sacrificing all that to be able to live in a lil while will be nice (boys school paid for, and trust funds building). Ok exiting soapbox and moving on...
Nah I mentioned visiting family in Ft. Mill which actually was a birthday Carowinds day for my lil cousin and son so we at the park for what seemed like an eternity....Carowinds makes me think if Wal Mart opened an amusement park it would be Carowinds long lines. I thought about talking to my frat brother who is a comedian about this, have you ever seen a Thug at an amusement park....this is probably one of the most "amusing" (pun intended) phenomenons I have ever seen, they are at the park trying to look hard but at the same time trying to have fun (be a kid again). Wife beaters, big shorts, ball cap, fresh sneakers, and tatted up toting a bear or a big tube that the lemonade comes in hahahahaha Iownknow about you but I found that to be hilarious (i will discuss further later). On the other side of the spectrum watching the "Necks" are just as funny because its like they treat Carowinds like they are at Vegas............................................(needed a minute to stop laughing so hard internally). If you haven't notice I like observing people and dynamics that overall make life beautiful yet instantaneously funny. I keep telling myself to do a broadcast via YouTube so when I see things I can make these words come to life....YALL GOTTA STAY ON ME ABOUT THAT.
In other news I recently discovered that our Govenors' husband is referred to as the First Gentleman, I snickered (yes I said snickered) because I was always curious to what that name would be and as I watched the morning news I received clarification. Well as we all know I can be long winded so I will exit stage left now and make sure to say that SEND YOUR PRAYERS TO EVERYONE AROUND THE WORLD, especially the recent storms that have ripped thru the southeast, the earthquakes folks in Japan and Haiti and all those who have lost someone they loved recently. We have to right the ship and support our brothers and sisters and wake up everyday and be thankful and spread joy and happiness to thy neighbor.

testing testing 1,2,3
Ok so back to what I was tombout. I have been using droid voice recognition all day so for give the short post before. So the NBA playoffs have begun and yes I will say if you are a sports fan preferrably nba then your spouse/significant other should understand no request are permitted for the next four weeks. In other news it looks like a new legislation will be passed saying that voters must present ID to vote, hmmmm how can I address this without coming off politically wrong....that method was banned in the early part of the century.
Moving along I partook in a grown up weekend (those with kids will lol when I finish), I took my sons to their cousin bday party then kicked it at my cousins house for the remainder of the evening (spirits, food, and plenty of lol) yeah that's a GROWN UP WEEKEND hahahahaha.
Also make sure you send your prayers out to those families that were rocked by tornadoes this past week. With Mother Nature having her own pms issues you would figure we (humans) would be less inclined to destroy, kill, fight, degrade, and politcally dismantle each other. Im just saying....priorities are a bit off....so I will end with this PEACE, LOVE, & LAUGHTER

Iownknow....
OK I know I'm super late (usually a Monday thang) but hell who knows who actually takes time to read this any way so oh well. Last week wasnt much of anything as far as news but this week has been somewhat entertaining at least in the entertainment world. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Manny retires, Barry beats the rap, and Kobe gets fines 100k for his "homophobic slur". Amazon is trying to make a come up in SC, VP sleeps thru presidents speech, and a number of other thangs. Where do I begin....lets just start with Manny hahahah he bounces retires and goes to Spain after failing another drug test. Lets just say the man has made over 170M in his career and all they tombout is if he goes to the HOF, mmmmmm (sour face expression) he don't care, WHO"S NEXT! Barry Bonds has proved once again that Dollars talk and what they excrete walks hahaha NEXT! KOBE gets caught on t.v. on one of his many MANY tirades the TV catches the closure of his verbal assault. What I am happy about is he didn't use the ole cliche' "I'm human....dadadadaada" he was real about it and yes I think it has been blown completely out of proportion but then again IT WAS ON NATIONAL TV. Whats is most interesting is that it cost him 100k YIKES, but as the folks on Sports Center calculated that is roughly 30 min of his salary (recession, 100k could help many families in need). I digress man if players started getting fined for stuff like that they need to fine Bosh for spitting while getting hype in a game (like the Glenn Davis drooling thing).
In other news Amazon is trying to come to Metropolitainville, USA and got free land, and some breaks but they want the whole pie. It's interesting when companies do that, isn't more important to break into this market and provide 2,500 jobs for a recession hard hit state? Maybe I'm just a economic softy.
Like I said last week didn't have much substance that I could go into a long drawn out soliloquy about. If you read this blog subscribe and join...I'm geesh it wont hurt. hahahahah

Hmmmm where and what
Yes yes we are at another Monday and although this past week wasn't as eventful as the last it still had its "things". Obviously our Governor could be discussed every week so for the sake of entertaining I will not do so. Lets just say the more I read and learn about politics the more I realized my preconceived notions were right and I get a bit frustrated. I digress so the big debates last week were about the FINAL FOUR and kids staying in school not staying in school etc., plus a topic that I will spend some time on this particular blog post.
A group of married men (one newlywed) and myself of course had "the" discussion with the grasshopper about the INSTITUTION. Now mind this is a group of guys all expressing their thoughts so about the changes, the responsibilities, the "submission" hahahah. Now we all realized that there are changes that come with "signing nem papers" (women may argue this but that's fine this is from a male perspective so) and the consensus was that the fact of "submission" (take the term on the surface not literally) comes more from us than it does women. Men generally submit for the simple fact of not having to debate, be challenged, or argue about mainly what appears as trivial (pick your battles). Mind this group of gentlemen had never had this talk we just gravitated to it. All of us had our stories of "giving in" and learning how to always be wrong. The Grasshopper in this conversation asked several "grasshopper-like" questions in which each guy gave a scenario but all have virtually the same response. Questions such as: 1. What about sex 2. Home projects 3. Going out 4. Consequences. Each guy appropriately responded based on personal experience but each had the same results; 1. will decrease with a sharp decline 2. will increase 3. will decrease for the sake of "why do you need to go out" 4. Ultimately if you challenge any of the above questions you will be met with stiff resistance and ultimately will just be mad and stay home. If you are a married man reading this I know you are laughing because you recognize where you fall in. Now by no means were we discouraging the grasshopper about the INSTITUTION we were simply helping him properly identify what the hell he has gotten himself into. Now many of the "council" (I will refer to this group for the remainder) all previously dated and courted for years prior to jumping broom and each said that once it became law binding all the previous +/- were erased from the hard drive and you have a new slate to work from which is notably dominated by the spouse. OK for virgin readers I know this may all sound negative but it truly isn't it is just a way for some grasshoppers to understand and conceptualize what they are embarking on. In this day in age where the divorce rate is astounding we can look at the dynamics and variables of why it is what it is (save for later discussion). Without really understanding the dynamics and variables you will slowly realized the INSTITUTION is less about you and more about what your suppose to do (hahahaha). "Grasshopper" quick rebutle was that "things are cool right now but I do foresee somethings already", we all laughed in unison because he is still reveling in the "newness" but reality will slowly be implemented so that he starts to understand that all the questions he initially asked will all reveal the answers we all responded with. Now there are some dudes out there that will say "none of those apply" and I will respond with a. do you have children (likely not) b. if you call the shots, more than likely she is complaining to her girlfriend you just don't know it c. newlywed. The INSTITUTION is not a science or for the lack of better terms about love, it is indeed a partnership based on the idea of cooperation, compromise, care, respect, and last but not least the L word. Through several conversations (across all ethnic fronts) the thoughts and responses yield the same results. As we wished grasshopper the best (as we were being summoned) we also told grasshopper to toss the notion of what it once was out the window because that will change. Regardless if you find the "right" person the principals of matrimony are different and plain and simple. Women (many) have ambitions and dreams of the INSTITUTION and the overall idea of how it is going to be. Men (most) generally "submit" to the INSTITUTION and the stability of it. The socialism of it is what makes or breaks it, are we on the same page, are we growing together, are we both fueled by the initial fire that led us here? Those are the questions people ask and ultimately become the blueprint of the INSTITUTION.
OK I have rambled long enough if you have responses and/or questions feel free to input or email me I will be more than obliged to respond. This is merely my thoughts and opinions so....

An Eventful week...I tellyuh: A MUST READ!
Greetings, and so another week has passed and I find myself back on my blog having even more experiences than the week before.Where shall I start...hmmmm well lets go with something on last week and the Board of Trustees beef between two women. So the "significant" woman held a conference and said that she would give more money and told the State (a la the Woman in charge) to match it, in my translation she is emphatically saying "nah b%&*$, put up or shut up". Ok ok...on to other news SPORTS why don't we and so the state flagship schools bball program loses 4 players in 12 mos...ok obviously I'm not in a position to express what I want however I wanted to dive into the dynamics of these transactions, now being a former student athlete my interest is always vested into the players and the program. Don't get it misconstrued I completely understand the business of college athletics and the prevalent challenge of education vs athletics (been there done that). I digress I personally don't like the moves because ultimately these type of decisions (attrition) effects both parties, you ask how? Well lets look at it most kids (98%) come to school with ambitions and dreams of playing professionally (school in most cases is secondary) so by making these transitions you ultimately lose a year and a real sense of where your "dream" is headed. Now on the flip side it hurts the institution because the perceived idea is to educate the athletes and W/L are some what subjective. The reality of the matter is transitions happen to every school across the country however this happened all at once (which is like finding a Lebron James that wants to come to school = rare). In the realm of public opinion none of this looks good for the coaches, players, or the program. So in my current capacity I continue to try to educate these kids on the business of sports. See many of them figure no responsibilities (which is a joke your responsibility is to get good grades and WIN!) and they also figure they aren't getting paid so they can't conceptualize (at 17-20 yrs old) that this indeed is a job. So what I tell them is you have to really understand and bring this thing to reality (you essentially get paid 100k/yr - housing, books, per diem, clothes/gear, meal plan). Now once these "kids" understand that college sports like being a regular student is in place to prepare you for the NEXT LEVEL in which being a Pro means you manage your money, your bills, you day to day activities so at this time you must conduct yourself like what you want to eventually be. In other words if you want to be a pro....act like one (study film, extra practice, play the social and media role). So those are my surface feelings because I truly wish I had someone during my experience to take me under their wing and say look "screw all that other stuff" if you want to make it this is how you do it (and I don't mean the general yada yada you get from coaches). I mean someone sitting me down on a regular and saying YOU have unbelievable potential however, in order for you to make it you will have to A, B, and C. I know you want to party, meet girls, and blah blah all the time you spend doing that instead of honing your craft and learning the "GAME" (on and off court to position oneself) to do what you say you want and that is to make it to NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, or what have you, no one did that so I feel like it is my duty to impart that information (not saying that no one is doing it I'm just saying). For the sake of time I will leave the rest of my thoughts for questions if anyone has any.
Nah to other news...I yes ME went out this past weekend with my best friend, frat brother, and business partner. Now we simply went to a WANG and DRANK establishment (I will not market or anyone else hahaha) and did some catching up and to discuss our future ventures. Of course we have a wonderful blueprint in line that we started 4 years ago however in the capital city "metropolitan" city at that with a mediocre and not to stretch the imagination seemingly pathetic social night life for adults (ages 25+). Now I understand that this "city" is a college town which I whole hardily enjoyed when I was 18-22. Nah at 31 I can't pull myself to go to those same establishments so I'm regulated to WANG and DRANK places (during basketball, football seasons) which is ok. I digress...we have analyzed this market for quite sometime now and have our thoughts on how to boost the social and economic landscape without changing the identity of the place (its the south - I will not elaborate), so we had a novel idea since we rarely get together to really hang out anymore to try to take our talents to a "night spot" (which will remain nameless even after what I will say). So we get to the place and (with it being one of 3 places you can really go in the CAPITAL) and get checked at the door for our attire, mind nah (chas. voice) we are both casually dressed (jeans, button down shirts, and casual sneakers) and the Security guy says y'all shoes look like sneakers (Good observation sir because they are but they aren't bball shoes or willies) and proceeds to tell us we cannot get in. At this moment another guy walks up (long tee shirt, bubble vest, baggy cargo pants, and some prada sneakers) and is let in with no hesitation or questioning. So my outspoken frat brother says "man this guy just walked in and those look like sneakers" and the security refers to the doorman and the door man says "nah those are BOOTS". I said sir those are prada sneakers (which are casual) and I lift up my pant leg and said these are no different (I'm not a materialistic person but I do like nice things I had on my Gucci casual sneaks). Yet we still couldn't get in, so next walks up two guys with baggy jeans, polo style shirts with thermal shirts underneath and ball caps) now mind they had on Lugz or Timberlands boots but if you trying to had a "standard" it should apply equally. So after standing there having discussion about this foolishness we decided to leave which didn't bother me that I was going home it was the PRINCIPALITIES of the matter. Nah I will not name the place because at the end of the day they are in the business of making money and hey who am I to knock the hustle. My lingering point is that there is no standard (and as other places shut down) due to compromising the "standard" for the dollar (many of them hearing consultation from us) learn that when we say the life span is 24-30mos. we mean just that (and it never fails). So as I exit my soapbox I have come to the realization that when my partner and I attempt to do things and continuously get profiled i.e. people we talk to about buildings say "We are not interested in this place being a club" we tell them you haven't even let us speak first and you are already categorizing us. We don't want a club either (too much of a headache and if we did people wont' appreciate what we would give -just my thought) we are trying to be trendsetting entrepreneurs. I digress....so my point is we are slowly but surely becoming more disappointed in the development of the "CAPITAL" and its vision of socio-economic diversity and or willing to try to grow and become the fruitful place it has the potential to be as we have seen other cities go from sub par to BOOMING (ATL - over 20 yrs and Char. - over 10 years) as we still lag behind content with being where we are not willing to take a chance. I do applaud our Mayor for seeing the potential and trying to create a buzz (he has been a great mentor to us). Maybe we are just disgruntled visionaries who have had great success with providing quality events from time to time. I don't know maybe I'm just venting...and not trying hard enough but the obstacles and folks looking thru the peephole and dead bolting doors that we can open is a bit frustrating. ANYWAY....that's enough of my rant yall have a good day (IF YOU EVEN READ THIS FAR hahahahahaha)

Random Rambling....Good Reader tho
Ok, so it's yet another Monday and other than March Madness and the Disaster in Japan I have know clue what it goings on in the world. On one note March Madness is one of the single best times of the year and having experienced a March run myself (NIT, not quite the tourney but hey) I know how exciting it is. On the other hand the disaster in Japan is very very sad, I am hoping one day the world will figure out that life is too precious to fight and bicker of money, power, and respect to the point that it causes lives to be taken. Natural disasters are fearful enough but I'm just a simple thinking guy. SOOOOOOOO in other news I am curious to know more about the dynamics of relationships? As I have seen many of my close friends enter and exit the institution of marriage like its college. What exactly is this "institution"? As a married person I have a variety of opinions that have been somewhat diluted by the fact that I grew up in a single parent home and all my friends grew up with two people in the house who subsequently half of those ended up separating. So despite being a bit jaded, I need other opinions or thoughts. I get to hear guys vent and complain as well as women at the same rate. Reasons range from infidelity, not getting sex enough, to simply just not "feeling" the person any longer. I mean with the "institution" how do you properly evaluate who your spouse, gf/bf, "friend" will be?
This post is about random things so I will jump topics completely wanted to make sure I sent a special R.I.P. to Nate Dogg (REGULATORS......MOUNT UP). We lost a legend and I mean that in all honesty because Nate Dogg brought a new feel to hip-hop music (which I still don't think anyone can truly sing the end of Regulators) ".....to the Eastsiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide Moteeeeeeeel (Staccato).
Nah y'all know I don't get into politics at all really but I just so happen to see "our" Governor remove a very very very very influential women off the BOT for some "dude" who gave $2,500 to her campaign....(expletive) The influential woman has given MILLIONS to the flagship university and done many things in this ever slow developing city we call the capital. Now after this removal (which I personally think, is you can't have someone with more influence and money than you be on the board when you are the Gov. #battleestrogen) the Governor reappoints the influential woman hahahahahahahahahha (learning real quick about the G.O.B. system).
Ok I'm done with sports, relationships, and politics to say none other than it's Monday y'all have a good week.
Until....

Ok I'm done with sports, relationships, and politics to say none other than it's Monday y'all have a good week.
Until....
